Scalloping Trip Details
Full day scalloping trips offered out of Homosassa between July 1st and September 24th. Below are some key points to remember while booking your trip.
"Wonderful day scallop fishing for the first time. Capt. Jim and his crew were fantastic, they were very patient, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and made you feel like part of the family. My son and granddaughter cannot stop talking about their experience. They want to do it again along with kayaking. Me I'll settle for the sunset cruise. Thank you."

Full day trips can run up to 8 hours. Choose your leave time between 8 AM and 10 AM. Later departures will result in less time on the water. Boat will return to the dock by 4 PM at the latest. Earlier returns will be at your discretion or the discretion of the captain depending on weather.
Your group will be provided with masks, snorkels, fins, and scallop collecting bags. You're welcome to bring your own gear.
Ice and bottled water will be provided. Please bring any drinks, snacks, or meals that you may want throughout the day. Coolers are encouraged!
A dip in the springs after your scalloping trip will be available based on time and weather. The cold, fresh water plunge is highly encouraged!
Adult beverages are allowed on-board brought by anyone over the age of 21.
While all ages are welcome, we do not recommend bringing any scallopers under the age of 8. Children under 6 years of age are legally required to wear an appropriately sized, US Coast Guard approved life jacket at all times that the boat is not docked or anchored. Life jackets in multiple sizes will be available. Children must be attended by a parent at all times whether in the water or on the boat.
Captain Jim must remain on the boat for the entirety of your trip but we have an experienced and excited crew that would love to jump in with you! For a small fee, one of our crew members will come out to help your party with gear, provide tips on finding scallops, and get hands on with cleaning your catch on the way back to the dock.
Captain Jim's license covers everyone on board. No fishing licenses are required for anyone individually in your party.
Pricing starts at $350 for up to 4 guests. Up to 2 additional guests can be added for $75 each with a max of 6 guests on board. An in-water crew mate can be booked for an additional $50.
A 50% deposit will be taken at the time of booking to hold a reservation. The remainder of payment will be due before boarding.
100% of the deposit held, minus a $20 administrative fee, will be refunded for scalloping trip bookings cancelled up to 5 days before the reservation date.
Scalloping trip bookings cancelled less than 5 days before the reservation date will not receive a refund of their deposit.
In the event that the captain determines an inclement weather hazard for the day of a reservation, guests can attempt to rebook or 100% of the deposit will be refunded.
"We did a six hour scalloping trip with Gulf Spring Livin' last weekend. It was so convenient to leave right from his own dock and he provided ice for our coolers. He was such a good captain keeping a look out while we were in the water and the equipment he provided seemed new and very clean. His daughter Gina was our first mate and she scouted for us, took pictures and gave us tips on how to find the scallops. We all had such a great time on the water on his new pontoon boat and will definitely be doing it again! Nothing negative to say about Gulf Spring Livin' and we would highly recommend!"
